Gracepath Talk - Saturday July 15th

An altercation at a construction site has left two teenagers and a man in Point Verdonda Hospital.

At around 9:00 pm, in the construction site for a new building block in Gracepath’s Shopping Centre, locals recalled hearing shouting and yelling, along with swearing and cursing. It continued for a few minutes, and more people stopped to hear the commotion. Police and ambulance arrived shortly after the commotion died down.

Police believe an altercation was the result of three people going into hospital.

Locals have been left stunned from the incident.

“I wasn’t the only one that heard the ruckus from the site, a lot of people stopped and heard the yelling. It was that loud.” one local commented, “I can’t imagine what caused that to happen.”

Ken Faatoa, owner of a small cafe, could hear the yelling through his customer’s commotions. “I was getting scared something bad was gonna go down. I had enough of it and called the police. Couldn’t believe the police didn’t come sooner.”

Gracepath Police are investigating the incident.
